Bob Reis has litigated in State and Federal Court for over 25 years, trying dozens of jury trials to verdict. These have included defense and prosecution of medical and legal malpractice claims, prosecution and defense of product liability claims, civil rights claims, commercial and banking litigation and employment matters, as well as motor vehicle and premises liability. He has successfully defended a murder charge and obtained a verdict in excess of $1,000,000.00 in a legal malpractice case. He has also successfully litigated insurance coverage issues for both insurance carriers and insureds. He has prosecuted and defended wrongful death, brain injury, burn, spinal injury and psychological injuries. He has also handled many appellate matters, appearing dozens of times before the Vermont Supreme Court.

     In 2003, Vermont's largest legal malpractice insurance company, Attorneys Liability Protection Society (ALPS), presented Mr. Reis with its Bonnie J. Henkel "Gold Star" Award. The award is presented to only one lawyer east of the Mississippi River each year who has achieved excellence in defending lawyers who are sued for malpractice.

     Mr. Reis obtained his A.B. from Fordham University in 1971. While there, Mr. Reis started at outside linebacker for the school's football team. After Fordham, Mr. Reis studied at the London School of Economics and received an M.S. in 1974. He received his J.D., cum laude from Vermont Law School in 1981. After law school, he served as Judicial Law Clerk in the Rutland Superior Court until 1982. He is a member of the Vermont and American Bar Associations and the Defense Research Institute.

     Mr. Reis resides in Chittenden, Vermont with his wife and three children. He is a member of the Killington Ski Club Board of Directors and served on the Board of the Vermont Achievement Center for several years.
